Out of fuel? How to prepare for roadside fuel delivery
Identify the fuel your vehicle needs, share a useful pickup location, and understand what to confirm before delivery.
Confirm what your vehicle needs
When a vehicle stops and fuel may be the cause, share what happened before it stopped and what the fuel gauge showed. Do not assume that every no-start problem is caused by an empty tank. The business can help you decide whether fuel delivery is the appropriate request.
Check the fuel type in your owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s fuel information if you can do so safely. If you are unsure whether the vehicle needs gasoline, diesel, or a particular grade, say so before a delivery is arranged.
Give a location the driver can use
An address is useful, but a highway direction, exit, nearby business, or parking entrance can make the location clearer. Send access instructions with the request. Avoid walking along a highway to find fuel or attempting to carry fuel in an unsuitable container.
- Choose Fuel Delivery and use current location or select an address suggestion.
- Check the displayed pickup address and review the service fee.
- Add the required fuel information when you request service.
What to confirm before delivery
Ask how the fuel quantity and fuel cost will be agreed, whether a deposit applies, and when someone can attend. The fuel-delivery quote distinguishes the service fee from the additional fuel cost; do not treat the service fee alone as the final total.
Keep your phone available for a callback and tell the business if your location or situation changes. Submitting the request starts the conversation; confirm that it has been accepted and that service is being arranged.
